March ’20 Meeting

We had another amazing Wilson ONE meeting Thursday. Our speaker was our very own Vice President, Melanie Culbreath, Sales Director at Mary Kay. Bonus, she’s also a nurse! She spoke about “How to be Your Best Self.” She had some wonderful insight on how to look amongst and within ourselves and pull out the very best. Not only with how you look but how you feel and treat yourself. Our project was the Adult High School. We provided students with food, gas gift cards and fast food restaurant gift cards.
We took a moment of silence for the tornado victims and shared our experiences. We heard from members Traci Pope, on how Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital took action and helped Wilson County during this devastation, and from Kay Maynard on how we can further continue to help. We continue to pray for our community. We are in awe of how our community has formed together during this time. Thank you to our first responders, police, firemen, volunteers, Middle Tennessee Electric and countless others. #WilsonCountyStrong

February 2020 Meeting

In the early 1900s, businessman and philanthropist Julius Rosenwald used his wealth to build more than 5,000 schools to help African-Americans in the South. Who knew Wilson County was a part of that American History and his legacy for education! Thank you to Marilyn Bryant, our Wilson ONE speaker and member, for such a wonderful program today! You can even see in one of the pictures, Marilyn describing to us how her mother, Hattie Bryant, was not only a Rosenwald student, but a teacher. Our community project was to help the Wilson County Civic League. They help to tutor and serve the underserved children of Wilson County. Today, we provided them with much needed art/construction paper, folders and pads, glue sticks, paper towels and ziplock bags. Oh, and Debbie Moss did an amazing job at her first meeting as our new President! Wilson ONE is already rocking 2020! Aren’t you missing out?!
