When is the last time you visited one of our libraries in Wilson County? Have small children or like to read yourself? Go visit one of our libraries! My favorite is the box they offer for rent that has movies and a bag of popcorn! My kind of rental box!
Alesia Burnley, with the Wilson County Library, shared some really great information with us today at our Wilson ONE meeting. It’s amazing what they offer! Visit their websites and check out all that they do for Wilson County.
Wilson ONE donated needed items such as glue sticks, paper plates, construction paper and card stock paper. We are always willing to help!
We even had time to take a photo with our Sherry’s Run shirts. A huge thanks to Marie Farley for providing those to our Wilson ONE team!
And ladies, we had 53 today for our meeting! WOW! That’s what I’m talking about! Let’s do it again and pack the room next month on October 4th. Same time, same place.
WOW! What an amazing Wilson ONE meeting! It was a packed house!
We heard from a new business owner, Whitney Simpson, with Bloom Yoga. Her ribbon cutting is Thursday, August 9 at 10:30 at 104 West Main Street in Lebanon. Please check her out!
Since it’s right around the corner, September 8 at 8:00 a.m., we also heard from Corrie Cluck with Sherry’s Run. Ladies, this is an amazing organization! If you don’t know what they do, please ask. Get involved! We heard from the wife of a cancer survivor today and what Sherry’s Run has done for her husband and family. It was very emotional and inspirational.
Wilson ONE donated tons of gift cards for all the families they reach out to!
Our guest speaker was Anne Davis, Philanthropist discussing Core 54. She is also the wife of Karl Dean.
Our main guest speaker was Steve Gillis, Owner of 3 Star Crossfit, shared with us how we can improve our lives by making smart choices and being active and working out.
Our project was to bring water for Rehab 23 that provides support including but not limited to, rest, re-hydration, nourishment, and medical evaluation to the Wilson County First Responders (Law Enforcement, Firefighters and Paramedics) at emergency scenes & during training operations.

Another exciting and very informative Wilson ONE meeting!
Our speakers were Lea Rowe, Executive Director of Charis Health Center, and one of their Nurse Practitioners, Cheri Mann. Charis operates as a primary care doctor’s office providing effective and affordable health care to adults and children, age 5 and older, who are medically uninsured. They offer compassion that meet each individuals physical, mental and spiritual needs. Office visits are $25. With help from the community, Charis is able to provide this service. Wilson ONE helped to donate many needed items!
We also learned about breast cancer. So many interesting facts I did not know and glad I know now! Ladies, let’s know our bodies and take care of them!
To learn more about Charis you can go to Charishealthcenter.org.
Our May meeting featured our wonderful friend ANGELA CHAPMAN and NEW LEASH ON LIFE -Pet Adoption Agency.
The agency services are growing in leaps and bounds especially with the addition of the spay and neuter at Joy Clinic. Angela filled us in on their continued adoption services along with offering aid for pet food and care for people with financial burdens. They do their best to help people in need to feed their fur babies. BARK IN THE PARK event is coming up Saturday May 12. Get out to the James E Ward Ag Center for fun and contribute to this great agency. The club Members brought supplies and made cash donation for our Share&Care.
Also our scholarship committee presented two nominees to receive the Wilson ONE scholarship. These recipients will be introduced at the June meeting.
